The Department of Human Services’ YES program is an opportunity for Georgia’s youth to experience leadership development and be the catalyst for change in their communities. Each City Cohort is comprised of 25 high school students who will grow alongside each other throughout the school year. Participants are selected through an application and interview process described below.
One completed application form and the reference page filled out by a school counselor are required when applying to participate for DHS YES. All application materials, including reference page, must be submitted and/or postmarked by the deadlines listed on the back of the application.
DHS YES members are expected to work hard alongside their peers for the common good of their community. Meetups will be engaging, productive and fun! If selected to participate, you are agreeing to fulfill the following expectations:
- Make an effort to the entire Meetup weekend and events planned in advance in order to successfully complete the program
- Contribute in your fullest capacity during the duration of the series
- Actively participate with a great attitude
- Uplift and support your fellow DHS YES peers
