I hope you all had a wonderful week and are ready to enjoy this week that we have off, but remember that we have it off to count our many blessings. I know as a teacher there are always moments where we are “putting out fires,” and teaching how to respect one another or even just talk to each other, but there are so many amazing moments and I just wanted to take the time to tell some of the reasons I am thankful this year.
1.) Kyla- I am thankful for your sweet hugs when you greet me in the morning and the fact that you have a drive for leadership.
2.) Kelsey- I am thankful for your sweet greetings and love of owls, but I am also thankful for the fact that you work hard at everything you do and mostly with a BIG smile.
3.) Tanner- I am thankful for your beautiful artwork and the fact that you get along with everyone. You also have such a creative mind, I love to see your ideas!
4.) William- I am thankful for your silly stories and to see how you can think through problems that you are passionate about.
5.) Matthew- I am thankful for you and the way that you push yourself to achieve your to your greatest potential no matter what! You have an amazing drive and I can’t wait to see what you become in the future!
6.) Katie- I am thankful for your sweetness and the fact that you write some AMAZING stories. You have so much voice and depth with your writing, it is such a joy to read!
7.) Kane- I am thankful that you always volunteer to help show off new math games and are always a good helper with others in math!
8.) Riley- I am thankful for you and how much excitement and passion for life you have, I am so thankful for that look you give when you have those amazing ideas bubbling up! It would make any teacher’s heart happy!
9.) Lana- I am thankful for you in the way that you take care of your classmates (and me for that matter) and the way that you put your all into every project we do, that hard work will definitely pay off!
10.) Noah- I am thankful for your enthusiasm! You always are excited about every lesson, every activity, and every book! I love that!
11.) Jayden- I am thankful for your creativity! You always can take the tiniest items and turn them into something magical! I am also thankful for the fact that you really do reflect on your work and do everything you can to improve and go to the next step!
12.) Mackenzie- I am thankful for how optimistic and sweet you are! No matter what is going on, you can count on Mackenzie to have a positive outlook and for her to be encouraging her classmates!
13.) Aidan O.- I am thankful for your happiness and positivity, I rarely see you without a smile, it’s refreshing! I am also thankful for the way you can use technology and use that to help your classmates!
14.) Mason- I am thankful for your love of history! I love the way you can make some many connections to what we are learning to other areas and have such an enthusiasm and passion for learning new things!
15.) Aidan P.- I am thankful for the way that you get along with each and every one of your classmates and are easy going, you are always up to try new things in class!
16.) Ashton- I am thankful for each and every owl picture you have made for me as well as your focus. You have worked so hard this year, I am very thankful for that!
17.) Caitlyn- I am thankful for the way that you lead your classmates and put your everything into each and every assignment or activity.
18.) Samayah- I am thankful for your hard work! You never complain (even when the going gets rough) and you push through to the end. You have amazing drive and I am very thankful of that!
19.) Mya- I am thankful for the sunshine that you bring to our class, you always have something nice to say to everyone and are the first one to help someone out when they need it. You are also a very hard worker, to that, I am very thankful!
20.) Warren- I am thankful that you remind me that sometimes we need to just play! I am also thankful that I know that you will save me from any spider attacks we may have in the classroom!
21.) Isabella- I am thankful for your compassion. You have so much empathy for your classmates and people throughout the world, you really do think of others in such a great way.
22.) Wyatt- I am thankful for your eagerness! You are always the first to have a raised hand to read or answer a question, you are not afraid to make mistakes because you learn from them! I am also thankful for your helpfulness at the end of each and everyday as well as your little jokes!
Those are 22 reasons why I am thankful to be at YES with this group of students! They teach me new things every day. Yes, in some ways we have a long way to go, but in community, we have it all! I am ever so thankful for my little family at school!
I hope you all have a blessed Thanksgiving and are taking time to remember the little things in life! Get plenty of rest and eat lots of turkey! Or deer, duck, goose, or lobster! Go Pilgrim style! 😉
