Sea Lions, Walruses, and Polar Bears, Oh My! As the kindergartners at Statham Elementary School were working on their Life Standards SKL1 and SKL2, Mrs. Leigh Strickland emailed to ask if there were any cool STEAM opportunities that she could add into her unit that would help give the students some unique experience with Arctic animals. So, through the power of our Zoom video conference platform, all eight classes of kindergartners at Statham took a thirty-five minute visit to the Alaska Sealife Center in Seward Alaska.
The students interacted with one of the researchers at the Sealife Center and were able to get behind-the-scenes access to some of the many marine mammals, fishes, and sea birds that reside there. Check out the interaction in the recording below.
