Yargo Elementary School uses an afterschool Science Club throughout the school year to prepare students for Science Olympiad Competition. The huge students response led Instructional Coach Tonia Paramore to look for some backup. When backup arrived, it came in the form of the Apalachee High School engineering club. Matt Flanders, the Apalachee High School Technology Student Association (TSA) Sponsor, saw this as a great opportunity for his students, and they jumped at the chance to serve as mentors for their elementary counterparts. What a great STEAM-powered idea for both groups to extend and refine all their 21st century skills, especially the 4 C’s – Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, and Critical Thinking! Thanks for sharing the success story.
