We now have two Makerbot Replicator Mini Compact 3D Printers in the system to make 3D printing more accessible throughout all grade levels and content areas. Both of these printers will be available very soon for checkout by elementary teachers to support specific STEAM lessons or units where 3D printing is being meaningfully integrated into the curriculum. If you are interested in opening the door for your students to use 3D modeling, check out Sketchup Make. It’s a free introductory software package that students can use to create their own 3D models that can be printed with a 3D printer.
For those of you looking for models that are already created that could be printed in class to support learning. You can search Thingiverse.
Let’s hear your 3D printing ideas!
